The Commerce and Economic Development Bureau (CEDB) announced on 13 July 2015 the establishment of the Advisory Group on Implementation of Fashion Initiatives (Fashion Advisory Group), and appointed Mr Victor Lo as its Chairman. Also appointed to the Fashion Advisory Group are 18 non-official members comprising representatives of fashion, design, clothing and textiles sectors and academic institutions. Representatives of the CEDB and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council are ex-officio members.
The Financial Secretary announced in the 2015-16 Budget that the Government would launch a series of measures on a pilot basis in the next three years to promote the development of the fashion industry. The Fashion Advisory Group was set up to advise on, guide and co-ordinate the implementation of the measures.
